Consultancy
It seems these days that every failed businessman or bank manager consider that the route to riches is to set up their own "Consultancy" company. Some may be good but clients should always look at the variety of experience and how this relates, if at all, to the project.
We have wide experience over a large spread of industries and commercial organisations and you will soon know whether our experience is relevant to your problem. As you will realise from other parts of this site, we do not take on projects unless we can see a positive outcome for the client.
The types of consultancy which we are expert in include the following:
Fraud investigation and forensic accounting. Because our experience is so broad we can usually pinpoint weaknesses in your systems and then dig deeply into source documents. We are able to look behind both published and unpublished accounts and other documents such as auditors' / accountants' working papers.
Computers. We have many years experience in IT from manufacture of computers through to software development. We have the expertise to link systems such as Sage to csv or excel files.
Sage. Having worked with Sage programmes for over twenty years we consider ourselves expert. So often companies use Sage inefficiently. We can set up particular reconciliation checks and generally customise all parts of Sage for you. So often we find that even the simplest VAT reconciliation checks are not being carried out because operatives do not understand the complexity and flexibility of the system.
Rescues. So often entrepreneurs cannot see the wood for the trees when times get rough. We are able to be objective and if there is an insoluble problem we will tell you quickly. Often we can help you with complex debt restructuring by CVA's etc. if that is the appropriate route.
Preparation of business plans and financial forecasts. Having produced numerous such reports we think we know what funders require, which is not the standard formulaic document produced by the various quasi governmental organisations.
Specialist Independent school financial advice. In these difficult times for Independent schools we are able to carry out a thorough financial review and make recommendations either direct to Governors or to the school's management team. We also have access to specialist educationalists who can advise on a variety of matters. We know all about the difficulties surrounding setting fee levels, funding building projects and getting fees out of parents.
